The word 'manjusha' is a combination of two words, 'manju' which means sweet and 'shwa' which means seeing. So it literally means a sweet sight. This is a traditional form of art in India, where women dress up in beautiful sarees and do various dances to the accompaniment of classical Indian music.

The manjusha form of dance was popularized by the legendary dancer, Prithviraj Kapoor's wife, Geeta Kapoor who was also a great classical dancer. The term manjusha has come to be used as an adjective to describe any woman who is wearing a beautiful saree and looking very graceful as she moves.
